I hate to bring the subject of Christmas up so early in the year, especially as I believe shops should be devoid of any festive gifts or decorations until 1st December. Due to the amount of time it takes and peoples busy social schedules in December I need to though so please forgive me.
I don't expect I am alone in always having the problem of what to buy my family for Christmas presents. As adults if we want something then we generally just go out and buy it. To me that is common sense but of course this leaves nothing I want as a present. Still I am constantly asked what I would like though and I cannot think of anything!
To me the ideal solution is photography. It is something that every family wants but never gets around to doing. This is for many reasons with the main one being fear of the price. Good photography does cost money (just like anything in life of value and quality) but it need not be expensive. In recent years lots of families have been shocked at the prices a certain national studio has charged and I quite agree.
At Open Leaf Images we believe in fair pricing that should be affordable to all normal families. We want you to leave the studio with as many beautiful images as possible. Our business has been built up through word of mouth so the more we can provide for the fairest price the more you will tell people about us.
Here are some ideas for parents, grandparents or sons and daughters to buy for their families:-
1. A family portrait. This may include just mum and dad but how much nicer to have gran and grandad as well? If great grand parents are around as well include them! These portraits are for the children as much as you. They are for them to look back on in 40 years and see their family so it is really important to have done. A snapshot on your digital camera does not cut the mustard - it does need to be done professionally.
2. Modelling Sessions. Do you have a lovely son, daughter or grand children that would love to be a model for a couple of hours? If so we can arrange for a make up artist (for the girls!) and do a fantastic studio session with many changes of clothes for them producing some great images for you and them.
3. Kids. How about photos of the kids themselves to give out as presents? Grandparents and parents love receive these as they are all about the family and creating wonderful memories.
All of the above can be booked to be photographed before Christmas so you can give out prints as a present or you may prefer to give a voucher for one of the above sessions as a present instead so they can book in a session next year. Whichever you prefer please phone me on 01622 892227 to discuss what you would like.
One final thought. I often hear people say they do not want to be photographed as they:-
a) Do not look good on camera.
b) Are too fat, too slim, not tanned or shy.
My message to those who have these thoughts is simple - GET OVER IT!. Your family love you for you. They love you unconditionally and do not care what you look like. Please don't deprive your family of wonderful images due to the above concerns. Just let me know that you are a little worried and as a professional I will work to overcome them. There are ways to make you look slimmer and the main reason you believe you may not look good on camera is because you have not been photographed professionally before. Seeing yourself in badly lit snapshots is enough to give anyone a fear of being photographed. Fortunately we will light you in a really flattering way so you look FANTASTIC!
Phone me now on 01622 892227 to book or go over pricing and you can see just how affordable coming to Open Leaf Images can be. Gift Vouchers are available for any amount.
